JOB PURPOSE
To assist the Yard / Warehouse Supervisor with efficient tracking, receiving, and management of various raw materials including drums by coordinating with customers, transport partners, and internal teams to ensure timely inspection, and receipt of materials to minimize costs and support sustainability goals.
KEY ACCOUNTABILTIES
Operations
• Assist the Yard/Warehouse Supervisor on documentation, inspection, organization of various raw materials and drum shop related activities for efficient operation at yard/ warehouse.
• Coordinate with the Purchase, Manufacturing, Logistics and Security team for smooth operations
Various material Management
• Track and monitor the status of various raw materials, drums using company systems and ensure accurate records are maintained in the system for easy handling.
• Work with the logistics team to schedule various material pickups and deliveries.
Customer Coordination:
• Provide the Yard/Warehouse Supervisor with accurate reports and timelines for material pickup and returns.
Inventory and Inspection:
• Conduct inspection of received materials to assess conditions and determine if they are fit for use.
• Update inventory records and identify shortages or excess stock.
• Organize the storage of materials and tally it in designated areas in line with the packing list as per the system.
• Check the incoming materials from various sources against the packing list to ensure that the materials including drums are made received in a timely manner
Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare regular reports on materials received, condition status, and cost impacts.
• Maintain proper documentation for all material transactions and inventory movements
• Monitor losses or damage and report costs to Yard / Warehouse Supervisor for efficient cost management.
Continuous Improvement
• Participate in initiatives for innovation and Continuous Improvement, including Lean methodologies, in pursuit of greater productivity
• Identify opportunities to streamline the drum return process for greater efficiency.
• Support sustainability initiatives by promoting drum recycling, reuse, and waste reduction.
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
• Ensure the implementation of all material-related processes in compliance with HSE policies, procedures and standards.
• Support the training of the Yard/ Warehouse team to meet HSE standards
Logistics Coordination
• Coordinate inter-site movements of materials including drums to ensure deliveries are in line with plan
Housekeeping
• Support the implementation of 5S principles to maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after operations
KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential: High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
Desirable : Training on an ERP system e.g. SAP
Job Skills: Proficiency in MS, good communication skills, ability to analyze data and generate reports, problem solving, storage management skills.
Behavioural Competencies : Attention to details, accuracy & time management.
Experience : 2 – 3 years of experience of material handling operations or in a similar role.
